The sensor is a new safety hazard in addition to connected car network security
Release Date:2017-02-13
Autonomous car can independently perceive the surrounding environment, plan the path, and move to the destination without any intervention. Although the original designing intention is to improve traffic efficiency and safety, however its credibility needs to be tested before large-scale adoption. Autonomous driving is extremely dependent on the sensor, so the sensor is a new safety hazard in addition to connected car network security.
The Organizing Committee of ACSS2017 set a keynote speech on the topic of "Self-driving Car Perception of Security Thinking". The presentation will introduce the study of autonomous car sensor's safety and credibility, including ultrasonic sensors, millimeter-wave radar and front camera. She will also introduce non-contact attacks on these sensors and show the experimental results on Tesla Model S.
